Activating your eSIM

In order to use the Europe eSIM, you need to have an eSIM compatible device. Your device also needs to be unlocked.

Your Europe eSIM will automatically activate when your phone connects to the local network in a covered country. Follow the eSIM installation instructions contained in your eSIM email.

When you arrive in Europe, install the eSIM into your phone. The eSIM will self activate once your phone receives cellular signal (Roaming must be enabled).

Once you have installed your eSIM, YOU MUST NOT UNINSTALL OR DELETE THE eSIM PROFILE. Doing so will erase the profile and the eSIM plan will be lost. 

Your Mobile Number

Your Europe eSIM comes with a UK mobile number. You will receive a message with your 11 digit mobile number when the eSIM is activated.

Recharging your SIM

Recharges are not possible with this eSIM. We recommend purchasing multiple SIMs and staggering the activation dates for extended coverage.

Calls & Texts

In Europe

To make calls or send texts in Europe: It is important to use the correct country specific dial out codes. Eg. To call a number in France, you need to dial +33 followed by the telephone number without the first digit. To call a UK telephone number, you need to dial +44 followed by the telephone number without the first digit.

Note: If the incorrect dial out codes are used, you will receive a nil balance/top up message - This is because the network does not recognise the location of the number you're dialing. It does not mean that you've run out of credit.

In the UK 

To make calls to UK numbers whilst in the UK, you can dial the numbers directly without any dial out codes.

Calls & SMS to Australia

International calls and sms to Australia are not included as a feature of this SIM. To make calls and send texts to Australia, we recommend using VoIP apps such as Viber, WhatsApp, Facebook Chat, Wechat, Skype etc.

Receiving calls & SMS from Australia

Your friends and family can call and text your assigned UK mobile number by dialling +44 7XXX XXX XXX. However we always recommend using VoIP apps such as Viber, WhatsApp, Facebook Chat, Wechat, Skype etc where possible.

Checking Usage/Balances

The easiest way to monitor data usage is via your phone's network settings. There will be a data tracker which lets you know how much roaming data has been used since installing the eSIM.

  • iPhone : Go to Settings > Cellular/Mobile > Current Period/Current Period Roaming.
  • Android: Go to Settings > Connections > Data Usage.
  • Google Pixel: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs.

All of our products are Prepaid. The features and allowances on each of our International Travel SIM and International eSIM are all disclosed upfront. So you know exactly what you're getting when you purchase and there are no hidden surprises later on.

All of our Prepaid Travel SIMs work in areas where cellular signal is available. At open sea, when you're outside range of network towers, cellular signal may be weak or not available. However coverage will be available closer to port.

You can keep your Australian number active for calls & SMS while using a travel SIM or eSIM for data, If your phone supports dual SIMs (International roaming fees can apply).

However, please note that having 2 SIMs enabled on roaming can cause conflicts where both SIM profiles compete on the same network for connection.

For good practice, we always recommend turning off your Australian SIM unless you need it to receive important calls or texts.

Your phone needs to be unlocked to be able to use our SIMs. If you're unsure whether if your phone is unlocked, please contact your telco provider to check.

If your phone has been issued to you from your employer, please check with them for compatibility as some work devices have additional security applications installed.

Some foreign networks have region specific frequency band requirements (eg USA). Which makes those networks less compatible with Australian phones. Please make sure you read the product information and use the network's own compatibility checkers where advised and applicable.

All orders are dispatched from Melbourne and carried out by Australia Post Australia wide. Orders placed prior to 3PM AEST will be dispatched same business day. We offer 2 postage options. If you require a SIM urgently, we recommend placing your order with Express Post.

Upon placing an order, you will receive an order confirmation email from us. Once your order has been dispatched by our team, you will receive a confirmation of dispatch email along with the tracking number for your order. Please note express post can take longer if the delivery address is not within AusPost's express post delivery network.

eSIMs 

eSIMs are delivered via email after purchase. Please ensure you monitor your email's spam folder in case your eSIM is filtered there by your inbox.
