Activating your eSIM
In order to use the South America eSIM, you need to have an eSIM compatible device. Your device also needs to be unlocked.
Your South America eSIM will automatically activate when your phone connects to the local network in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay. Follow the eSIM installation instructions contained in your eSIM email.
When you arrive in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay, install the eSIM into your phone. The eSIM will self activate once your phone receives cellular signal (Roaming must be enabled).
Once you have installed your eSIM, YOU MUST NOT UNINSTALL OR DELETE THE eSIM PROFILE. Doing so will erase the profile and the eSIM plan will be lost.
Your Mobile Number
The South America eSIM does not come with a phone number and cannot be used for calls and texts. We recommend using VoIP apps such as WhatsApp or Messenger etc for calls and texts.
Recharging your SIM
The South America eSIM cannot be recharged. We recommend purchasing multiple eSIMs for if additional coverage is required.
Checking Usage/Balances
The easiest way to monitor data usage is via your phone's network settings. There will be a data tracker which lets you know how much roaming data has been used since installing the eSIM.
- iPhone : Go to Settings > Cellular/Mobile > Current Period/Current Period Roaming.
- Android: Go to Settings > Connections > Data Usage.
- Google Pixel: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs.
