Activating Your SIM

To activate your USA Travel SIM Card online. Follow the step by step instructions outlined in the user guide. The validity period for your SIM will begin immediately from activation.

Your Mobile Number

The USA mobile number for your USA Travel SIM card is assigned after the SIM has been activated. Once your SIM has been activated, you will receive a welcoming SMS with your USA mobile number.

Recharging Your SIM

The USA Travel SIM cannot be recharged. We recommend purchasing multiple SIMs for extended coverage and staggering the use. 

Calls & SMS in USA

To make calls to USA numbers whilst in the USA, you can dial the numbers directly without any dial out codes.

To make calls or send texts to Australia: It is important to use the correct country specific dial out codes. To call or text Australia, ensure to use +61 followed by the mobile number without the 0.  

Note: If the incorrect dial out codes are used, you will receive a nil balance/top up message - This is because the network does not recognise the location of the number you're dialing. It does not mean that you've run out of credit.

Your friends and family can also call your assigned USA mobile number by dialling +1 XXX XXX XXX. We recommend they use VoIP apps such as Viber, WhatsApp, Facebook Chat, Wechat, Skype etc where possible.

Checking Usage/Balances

The easiest way to monitor data usage is via your phone's network settings. There will be a data tracker which lets you know how much roaming data has been used since inserting the SIM.

  • iPhone : Go to Settings > Cellular/Mobile > Current Period/Current Period Roaming.
  • Android: Go to Settings > Connections > Data Usage.
  • Google Pixel: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs.

Please note that removing the SIM will reset the data usage tracker.

All of our products are Prepaid. The features and allowances on each of our International Travel SIM and International eSIM are all disclosed upfront. So you know exactly what you're getting when you purchase and there are no hidden surprises later on.

All of our Prepaid Travel SIMs work in areas where cellular signal is available. At open sea, when you're outside range of network towers, cellular signal may be weak or not available. However coverage will be available closer to port.

You can keep your Australian number active for calls & SMS while using a travel SIM or eSIM for data, If your phone supports dual SIMs (International roaming fees can apply).

However, please note that having 2 SIMs enabled on roaming can cause conflicts where both SIM profiles compete on the same network for connection.

For good practice, we always recommend turning off your Australian SIM unless you need it to receive important calls or texts.

Your phone needs to be unlocked to be able to use our SIMs. If you're unsure whether if your phone is unlocked, please contact your telco provider to check.

If your phone has been issued to you from your employer, please check with them for compatibility as some work devices have additional security applications installed.

Some foreign networks have region specific frequency band requirements (eg USA). Which makes those networks less compatible with Australian phones. Please make sure you read the product information and use the network's own compatibility checkers where advised and applicable.

SIM Cards

All orders are dispatched from Melbourne and carried out by Australia Post Australia wide. Orders placed prior to 3PM AEST will be dispatched same business day. We offer 2 postage options. If you require a SIM urgently, we recommend placing your order with Express Post.

Upon placing an order, you will receive an order confirmation email from us. Once your order has been dispatched by our team, you will receive a confirmation of dispatch email along with the tracking number for your order. You can then track your order by clicking the tracking number in the email.  

Please note express post can take longer if the delivery address is not within AusPost's express post delivery network.

eSIMs 

eSIMs are delivered via email after purchase. Please ensure you monitor your email's spam folder in case your eSIM is filtered there by your inbox.
